I bought this set to complete the full set of pasta cutters offered by KitchenAid. I do not own the ravioli maker, but have a press that works well for that purpose. The roller and cutters work exactly as I expected they would. As long as one feeds the pasta through the cutters cleanly and straight, the end results turns out very well. It's important that the dough is the proper texture and is floured before cutting to ensure that the cut pieces of pasta can be easily separated.I removed one star because I feel there's a failure in the concept... One must mix and prep the dough, then use the pasta roller to prepare the dough for the cutter. I'm fortunate enough to have two KitchenAid mixers, so I could roll one piece of dough to get it ready, then immediately run it through the cutter attachment on the second mixer before hanging the finished product to dry. If I didn't have the second mixer on hand, I guess one would have to roll and prep a batch of dough, then change out the roller for the cutter to complete the batch. If you're rolling thin pasta, based upon my experience I don't know how well that would work. I certainly wouldn't want to swap attachments for every piece of dough, and rolled thin the prepped dough would neither hang well nor be easy to pick up from a dough board without distorting the dough.Beyond that, the system worked fine (as all KitchenAid products do) and I'm pleased with the result.
