This is a beautiful cookie cutter, very sturdy, and mine looks just like the picture. Mine is very slightly bent so that it does not lie quite flat on the counter top. However, this slight bend is not enough to affect its function. This is a big cookie cutter - my cookies came out 6.5" long from tip of nose to tip of tail. They are a full 5" wide from the tip of the foreleg to the wingtip. As other reviewers have pointed out, this cookie cutter does have a lot of nooks and crannies. So, it is best to use it with a sturdy dough (I used gingerbread) and roll it about 1/4" thick. Press firmly and wiggle every section of the cutter before lifting. Under these conditions, I was able to get the dragons out clean and intact just about every time. When I tried to roll the dough thinner, I had a hard time with stretching the dough out of shape, breaking off the tiny forelegs, wing and tail tips, or snapping the head off at the narrow point of the neck. A softer dough might be tricky to use with this cookie cutter. But any cookie cutter with such a complex shape will always require extra care to get good results. In summary, this is a lovely, well-made cookie cutter that helps me make big dragon cookies to impress my kids. What's not to like?I bought this cookie cutter to make birthday party favors for a knights and princesses birthday party. When it arrived I was pretty excited, it looks very cool! However, the ear, nose/mouth, arm, toes, tip or wing and tail are really difficult to get the cookie dough out of and by the time I was done they didn't look nearly as neat as the cookie cutter did. Just too much detail. Frosting can fix a lot, but next time I might get a dinosaur cookie cutter and add my own wings. It would have been much simpler. Not all was lost though, we instead used this as a stencil on the knights cardboard shields which was a bit easier, though even there we lost some detail because the pencil was not small enough to get into the little crevices of the cookie cutter.I am a Mardi Gras fan, so I ordered the Old River Road King's Crown copper cookie cutter. What I received was the crown shaped cookie cutter. Old River Road cookie cutters are beautiful, well built, and have a good weight about them, so I will keep the one I received. I am just a bit put out that it wasn't what it was advertised to be.Addendum: I reordered the king's crown and kept my fingers crossed that it would be what I ordered this time. And, indeed, it was. Color me happy! The detail on this cutter is fabulous but definitely is going to take some practice to use especially in those tight spaces. Old River Road cutters are absolutely outstanding, and these prices are great!I love all the Old River Road cookie cutters. I love that they are larger than most and the quality is good. The only negative is that Amazon puts in 6x5 on almost every cookie cutter without having the actual dimensions of that specific cookie cutter. Since I generally decide which cookie cutter to buy based on size, it is an issue, so I try to always add a review with the specific size for future purchases. The CROWN cookie cutter is actually 6.75 x 3, not 6x5 as advertised. It's a great cookie cutter and will be fun to use! Enjoy!I just love this! I adore dragons and cookies and this makes a large dragon shaped cookie. With such a detailed form, the cook must take a lot of care to get the cut dough out without stretching or ripping but this is SOOOO worth the effort. I found it works better and is easier to handle with a thicker dough (at least 3-4 mm or 1/4 inch thick).Lovely sturdy cookie cutter. I'm very pleased.I know, I know, I know. Sounds weird. But I actually bought this specifically for my dog's birthday (her name is Onyxia... if you get that, +1 for you). I actually spent a decent amount of time looking for ones that were good shapes and good quality, and this fit the bill for both!Very durable and makes great dragons - well-sized if you want to paint or decorate. =)Not only is this great for cutting cookies or dough generally- if you decide not to use it for cooking it works perfectly as a reusable stencil- whether for sketching the design for murals, drawing with pencil- filling it with wax or plaster as a mold- let your imagination out. This works for cooking or crafts. Not much to say about this, it's a cookie cutter. Only problem I have with it is that it is as big as the palm of my hand. That's one huge cookie!
