I have a whole drawer full of cigar cutters that I've accumulated over the past 20 years. Some were freebies, some were cheapies, and some I paid good money for. Several of them are Xikars. I have two Xi1s and an Xi2. I've always found Xikar products to be excellent quality. The Xi3, however, is hands down the best cutter I have ever used. Period. It slices through my cigar with no resistance whatsoever. The first time I used it I had to do a double take that it actually worked. It was that smooth. I don't know if it's the polished blades or if they have a coating or what, but it's light years ahead of the Xi1 and Xi2. This thing is a little pricey, but worth every penny. Just be careful if you let your fellow herfers use it. They may try to swipe it.Felt cheapThe quality was outstanding as to be expected, but the wood Spalted Tamarind didn't look anything like it does in the picture. It was very plain with very little to no wood grain showing, and the wood was white instead of being a darker colorThe quality of the spalted tamarind wood grain is not good. It resembles driftwood more so than tamarind. Otherwise, the build quality and function is excellent.Best cutters on the market, and lucky to find a special edition at an affordable price. I have one of the plain plastic-handled ones that I bought when they first came out, and it's still going strong. Only complaint, I wish they included a cheap leather pouch or some kind of pocket protector with the cutter. Not even close. Looks like pine tree wood was used. There were also some 'normal use' scratches on the blades. I found that odd for its supposed to be new.Without using it, the cutter and blades appeared to be super high quality, like most Xikar products are. Hard to believe it got past quality control to be that far off cosmetically though. Sadly I ReturnedMy son was pleased with itXikar makes the best cigar accessories I've found, both lighters and cutters. These stay sharp year after year with several cuts a day. The wood is a great accent to a great cutter
