Works perfectly! I set my drill press at 510rpm and tested this on alder, oak and walnut, worked just as I hoped to would. First time using these bits, but no surprises. There is a bit of vibration as the bit first contacts the wood, but once it gets started in a 1/4” or so, it smooths out. Then I used a 3/4” forstner precision shear bit to bore a matching hole in a piece of black walnut. Tapped in a white oak plug, chiseled off most of the excess, then hit it with an orbital sander. Zero gaps or issues.I suspect anyone having issues are either using too fast a setting, plunging the bit too fast, or not using a drill press. I doubt using a handheld drill would bore as clean a plug, or bore a perfect hole for that matter.
